Interview with International wedding dress designer, Heidi by Design

Welcome to the garden. We have a re-post today. An interview from one of the characters of Three Brides and a Dress.

But first our garden tip today is from The 9 Best Gardening Tips published on HuffPost Blog.
1. Start Up Gardening
Don't fret about finding a suitable plot in your backyard, simply start a container garden anywhere you'd like. Plus this way you can ensure the soil is fertile and easily prevent weeds! You'll be more likely to follow through with your gardening if your container garden is near your back door or a window you use often. First start small, then work your way up to a bigger garden.

Today we have two guests. Carmella from Today's Bride Dress Magazine who will be interviewing International wedding dress designer Heidi by Design. This will be fun because we have front row seats for this exclusive interview.

Carmella: Wow, this garden is more beautiful than I read in the brochure. I hear that they have fabulous weddings here. And speaking of weddings, my guest helps make a brides' day perfect. Because a bride can't have the perfect wedding without the perfect dress, right?

Today I have Heidi, she is the owner and designer for Heidi by Design. Heidi, thank you for joining us.

Heidi took a moment to gaze out over the rose garden before she replied. "It is beautiful here, thank you for inviting me, Carmella. I must confess, I arrived a little early so I could tour the venue for weddings. Fabulous is correct. It gave me some ideas."

Carmella: I'm intriqued. You design dresses, not wedding venues, what kind of ideas?

Heidi smiled at Carmella. "I design creations, not dresses. My brides come to me to find the perfect dress..."

Carmella: Excuse me, I'm going to interrupt you a moment with a question.

Heidi raised an eyebrow, and nodded her head in agreement for her to proceed.

Carmella: It's rumored that you believe that your dresses are the soul mate to the bride. How can that be? Are they magic?

Heidi's laugh tickled over the garden, a pure delightful sound that managed to blend with the theme, of King Author and Guinevere. "I'm not sure you would say they are magic. I like to think they're enchanting. I interview each bride and work with them and their mum's and we match them with their soul mate."

Carmella: Mmm. So you're not going to admit that you sprinkle fairy dust on a dress before you deliver the creation to the bride.

Again's Heidi's laugh tinkled out. "Heavens, I'm not a fairy god-mother you know. Let me give you an example; A bride comes in and we chat, I'm interviewing them, but I don't let them know that. Within fifteen minutes, I know their favorite colors, flowers, day of the week, holiday, etc. And they do not always use their favorite colors for their wedding."

Carmella: Really? Why not, you would think that would be the first color's they'd use.

Heidi nodded. "Some brides have always wanted a fall wedding, but their favorite color is pink, doesn't really work."

Carmella: I see now what you mean. But doesn't every dress designer do that?

Heidi frowned in thought. "I guess they do, however, I'm not trying to get a picture of what they have in mind for their wedding or their colors. I'm interviewing them for their personalities, My creations have to speak to them. Be theirs alone. I do not mass market, I never make the same creation twice.

"I name my creations, they have personalities of their own. And just like any other marriage they have to be soulmates. Take someone who loves roses, candlelit dinners, walks in a park, I'm going to create something feminine, something delicate with maybe small rosebuds, something romantic."

Heidi stood and went to the rail and looked out over all the flowers, turned slightly and continued. "Someone who loves sunflowers, loves picnics on the cliffs after a hike, I'm going to create something feminine but a little more daring. A bold pattern of large flowers with white on white."

Carmella: I think I understand now why you're an International name. You're very passionate about your creations, aren't you?

Heidi's smile widened as she returned to her seat. "Yes, they're my babies."

Three Brides and a Dress
Hi, my name is Bella and I'm one of Heidi by Design signature creations. I'm a wedding dress. Someday I'll find a young bride with stars in her eyes and dreams of a future with her groom. I can imagine it now. The groom standing at the altar waiting, his gaze fixed to the door where his bride will appear and then walk toward him. I'll hug her curves and she'll shimmer and shine with the promise of what their life will be.

It all sounds simple and easy, doesn't it?

Wrong...

My journey is more of a zig zag than a top stitch along a straight seam as I search for the perfect bride who is my soul mate.
