Clint Austin is finally released from prison after ten long years. He'd been incarcerated in one of the toughest ones in Alabama. Since he was innocent he's on a mission to go back to the small town and find the real killer. The townsfolk are not thrilled to have him back.
Ten years earlier Emily Wallace caught him leaning over her best friend, blood everywhere. She testified he was the killer. Though she moved away to forget the painful memories, shes moving back to make sure he is returned to prison where he belongs.
This book was well written and the suspense is a page turner. It had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I'd give Clint's story and the suspense a 5. However, the relationship between Clint and Emily is unrealistic in my opinion especially given the time line. It ruined the story for me so I give that part a 2. I don't want to say more, because I don't want to give it away. I will say that this book has received rave reviews and the Executive Editor of St. Martin's press has given it high praise. So keep this in mind.
I give this a 3.5 Still a good read even after I averaged out the points.
